Dr. Larry Stefan

President, Registered Psychologist

Dr. Stefan is a seasoned corporate psychologist (Ph.D. 1983 University of Alberta) who is known for his extensive, in-depth assessments. His investigative/comprehensive assessments of executives can be a once-in-a lifetime, pivotal learning experience for any manager who wants to reach their potential. Having conducted over 20,000 assessments, he explores with the individual the arc of their career, understands the hero-in-their-own-narrative tendency, and through analysis of comprehensive psychometric findings and feedback, helps them understand how they may be viewed by others. The results are revealed in a constructive manner, assisting the individual to reach their potential through leveraging their strengths and addressing potential weaknesses. His assessments are sought by clients hiring and developing key personnel, as well as individuals who want to be their best.

He is a Registered Psychologist in the province of British Columbia and a member of the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Marina Kolesnikova

Partner, Registered Psychologist

Dr. Kolesnikova began her career in 1986 as a Clinical Psychologist in Moscow, Russia. She received a Ph.D. from the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences where she also taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She joined the firm in 1997 and has acquired extensive experience assessing candidates for leadership roles with a diverse range of clients. She has also been active in the design of selection systems and conducting developmental assessments.

She has been registered to practice psychology in B.C. since 1999. She also is a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Jane Gayton

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Gayton joined the firm in 2002 after moving to corporate psychology from a practice in health care and consultation to the Public Service Commission of Canada where she worked with executives on their career development.

Her work is now focused on the psychological assessment for employee selection, promotion, and development. She also provides short-term intervention to employees who have issues that affect their well-being and effectiveness on the job or readiness to return to work following medical leave.

She received an undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University and a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa. She is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia and a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association, and the Canadian Sleep Society.

Dr. Karen A. Stierhoff

Editor / Administrator

Dr. Stierhoff has a background in the social sciences, including a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of Alberta. She has 20 years of research experience, including 15 years as a consultant specializing in social research, policy analysis, and program evaluation.

She has been a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society since 1986 and was President of the B.C. Chapter from 1990-1995.

Her role with the firm is primarily editorial in nature. She also oversees some of the business side of the practice, including administrative and employee management.

Dr. Ross Woolley

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Woolley has worked in the field of industrial psychology for over 30 years, providing clients with a range of human resource consulting services. Before joining the firm, he was a director with a large health services consulting company. His areas of specialization are in the assessment of individuals for selection and development, hiring system development and validation, and instrument development.

In addition to his consulting work, he is the author of a number of articles on personnel selection focused on identifying individuals who are likely to exhibit counter-productivity in the workplace.

He obtained a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of British Columbia. He is licensed to practice psychology in British Columbia and is a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association.

Jim Wuest

Fellow Certified Management Consultant

Mr. Wuest is a Fellow, Certified Management Consultant, founding director of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta.

He has worked with more than 450 organizations across North America, in sectors that range from natural resources, energy and manufacturing, to transportation, construction, finance, governments, not-for-profit organizations and the professions. The organizations have ranged in size from sole proprietorships to the Fortune 500; many have been clients for more than 35 years.

Community activities have included the City of Langley, YMCA of Greater Vancouver, the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Canadian Finals Rodeo, and the United Way.
